Exhausted – Replaced by “Citizens’ participation: children and young people give the example”

This Vade Mecum uses many examples. It has also taken a kind of photograph of the world of the Children’s and Youth Town Councils. Of course, this is simply a snapshot.

Since the CRECCIDE became involved in this Vade Mecum, quite a number of new Children’s and Youth Town Councils have been set up with the primary aim of educating children to participate in society, to be responsible citizens and to uphold our democracy.

The purpose of this Vade Mecum has never been to level any positive or negative criticism at any existing council, but rather to assess the progress achieved by these Children’s and Youth Town Councils in French-speaking Belgium and to look at what is going on in neighbouring countries.

The innovative aspect of this Vade Mecum is that it creates new ways to improve and restructure the way these Children’s and Youth Town Councils operate.
