1. The Class Council is a participative structure in the service of class management and the resolution of conflicts.

Objective :

  • Offering a model of active child participation in the management of the class

2. Education in citizenship and democracy : small steps towards citizenship

Objectives :

  • Making all the members of the teaching team aware of the stakes of an education in citizenship and democratic values.
  • Drawing out ideas for citizen’s action which can be transferred into the class room, the site, the school by encouraging participation and respect.
  • Becoming aware of the necessity of coherence and continuity in action

3. Education in citizenship and democracy through a tour of the municipality’s memory

Objectives :

  • Confronted with the rise in extremist movements which threaten our democracies, making the teaching team aware of this project’s stakes.
  • Explaining the project’s stages and suggesting ideas which will enable teachers to draw up a work plan.
  • Bringing out the possible learning activities in the different disciplines as well as the transversal and relational skills which may be developed.

4. Training a citizen who is responsible for his environment

Objectives :

  • Making all the members of the educational team aware of the stakes of a citizen’s education aiming at the respect and the safeguarding of the environment.
  • Outlining, as a team, an environmental action plan to be applied in each site.
  • Making people aware of the necessity of a coherence and a continuity in action.

5. Drawing up the rule and confronting the transgression

Objectives :

  • Understanding the spirit of the International Convention on the Rights of the Child, its purpose and its implications.
  • Seeking the means of working out and applying a school discipline compatible with the dignity and respect of every child.
  • Confronting transgression by implementing a system of inclusive, educative and amending punishment.
  • Promoting an education for responsible citizenship and in democratic practices referring the legal prescriptions.

6. Information day for teachers in basic education : discovering the Carrefour Régional et Communautaire de la Citoyenneté et de la Démocratie ( Regional and Community Crossroads for Citizenship and Democracy) on the lake Bambois site

Objectives :

  • Discovery of the site, the safety tracks and educational gardens.
  • Presentation of the CRECCIDE’s objectives.
  • Discovery of activities, productions, tools, modules and animations developed by the CRECCIDE teaching team.

7. Information day for future teachers (nursery, primary and secondary school teachers) : training a responsible citizen from the nursery to the secondary level

Objectives :

  • Making the participants aware of the stakes of an education in citizenship and democratic practices starting in the nursery school.
  • Bringing out educational approaches to be implemented with a care for continuity.
